Electrical methods

Electrical survey is based on the detection of subsurface effects generated by electric currents.
There are many available techniques to measure these effects.
We can measure potentials, currents, electromagnetic fields caused naturally or generated by artificial sources.

The measurements can be divided into:
SP – spontaneous polarization
MT, AMT, CSAMT – telluric and magnetotelluric fields
RM – resistance measurements (SOP, DOP, KOP, VES)
EM – electromagnetic measurements
IP – Induced polarization

Digging depth is dependent on the used methodology from the few tens of centimeters to several tens of kilometers.
